The Offset Printers Association (OPA) received high honours at the 2025 World Corrugation Forum (WCF) in Shanghai, China, for its exceptional contribution to the global printing and packaging industry.
The event brought together leaders from more than 20 nations, spotlighting OPA’s instrumental role in promoting innovation, international collaboration, and sector-wide growth.Josephin Lee, COO of RX Greater China, presented the award, praising OPA’s long-standing impact. “OPA continues to distinguish itself as a powerful force in the global print and packaging space,” said Lee. “Their consistent efforts to unite the industry and foster meaningful advancements make them a valued partner.”
Since its inception, OPA has worked to raise standards across the printing and packaging domains through training, certification, and global engagement. As noted in a 2024 Smithers report, the global print market is on track to hit $821 billion by 2026—with packaging making up over half that figure. OPA has actively supported this growth through initiatives that help professionals adapt to technologies like digital print and sustainable packaging.
OPA’s influence is particularly strong in the corrugation sector, which is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 4.8% between 2023 and 2032 (Allied Market Research). Through its workshops and international summits, OPA has championed the use of lightweight, eco-friendly materials and efficient production systems.
Now in its fourth edition, the World Corrugation Forum has become a cornerstone event for the global packaging industry. The 2025 forum attracted over 300 participants from 30 countries and centered on cutting-edge solutions for sustainable, automated, and smart packaging workflows—key focus areas for OPA in recent years.
Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra, who accepted the award on behalf of OPA, expressed appreciation for the recognition. “WCF continues to be a platform where forward-thinking ideas are born,” he stated. “OPA remains committed to building a sustainable future by supporting innovation and cross-border collaboration.”
This recognition at WCF reaffirms OPA’s strategic vision of uniting technology and talent on a global scale. With major events like the Global Print Summit 2026 on the horizon, and with its training programs expanding, OPA is set to further grow its presence—already encompassing over 10,000 professionals across 50+ countries, according to its 2024 annual report.
