HEIDELBERG Manroland Sheetfed Acquisition marks a major move in the global printing industry. HEIDELBERG has acquired the global service and spare parts business of Manroland Sheetfed after the company entered insolvency proceedings.
The deal will help HEIDELBERG expand its service network while ensuring continued support for Manroland Sheetfed customers worldwide.
Expanding Global Service Operations
Through the acquisition, HEIDELBERG will take over Manroland Sheetfed’s service and spare parts business. The agreement includes related intellectual property, selected assets, market operations in around 35 countries, and approximately 600 employees.
In addition, HEIDELBERG will secure intellectual property linked to the Roland 900 and Cartonmaster wide-format press platforms.
The move allows customers to continue receiving support through existing local teams. At the same time, they can access HEIDELBERG’s global service network and spare parts infrastructure.
Supporting Offset Printing Customers
The HEIDELBERG Manroland Sheetfed Acquisition aims to provide long-term support for more than 3,000 Manroland Sheetfed users worldwide.
Moreover, the partnership helps maintain service continuity in the offset printing market. Customers can continue operating their equipment with access to technical support and lifecycle services.
Manroland Sheetfed entered insolvency proceedings in March 2026 after facing financial challenges and declining sales. However, the company continued to maintain a strong technology portfolio in the printing press industry.
Strengthening the Future of Printing
Anthony Langley, Chairman and CEO of Langley Holdings, said the agreement will help secure future service and spare parts support for customers.
Meanwhile, Jürgen Otto, CEO of HEIDELBERG, said the acquisition represents a continuation of the companies’ shared industrial history. He added that HEIDELBERG will continue supporting innovation in printing press manufacturing.
Overall, the acquisition highlights the growing importance of strong service networks in the global print industry. With this step, HEIDELBERG aims to strengthen customer support and expand its role in the offset printing sector.
