hubergroup Launches Low-Tack NewV UV Inks for High-Speed Offset Print Production
New UV offset ink variants improve print stability, reduce substrate damage, and support consistent quality across changing paper grades.

hubergroup Print Solutions has expanded its UV offset printing portfolio with the launch of low-tack versions of its NewV UV offset ink range. The new formulations have been developed to address the growing challenges faced by printers operating at higher press speeds and working with increasingly variable paper and board qualities.

The latest additions are available across several product lines, including NewV Pack Premium, NewV Set LED, NewV Pack MGA, and NewV Poly MGA. According to hubergroup, the new low-tack variants complement the company’s existing high-tack series, which have gained strong acceptance, particularly in premium printing applications.

The introduction comes in response to rising demand for inks that can deliver reliable performance on sensitive substrates without compromising print quality. In offset printing, tack refers to the adhesive strength or stickiness of the ink. While higher tack can improve ink transfer and dot reproduction, it may also increase the risk of paper surface damage, commonly known as picking, especially on delicate papers and uncoated boards.

To overcome these challenges, hubergroup developed the low-tack versions to provide greater process stability under demanding production conditions. The inks maintain the rheological properties of the standard NewV series while reducing stress on substrates during printing.

The company states that the new formulations help minimize paper tear-out, improve ink separation, reduce emulsion-related disruptions, and lower the risk of delamination on multilayer materials. These benefits become particularly valuable when working with fluctuating paper qualities or operating presses at high production speeds.

By enhancing process reliability, the low-tack inks enable printers to maintain consistent print quality while reducing waste and production interruptions. The solution is designed to support packaging printers, commercial printers, and other UV offset users seeking greater operational efficiency in increasingly challenging production environments.

hubergroup notes that the development reflects ongoing changes in the print industry, where substrate variations and productivity requirements continue to place greater demands on ink performance. The new low-tack NewV series is intended to help printers achieve stable, high-quality output while adapting to evolving market conditions.

With the expansion of its NewV portfolio, hubergroup further strengthens its offering for UV offset printing applications, providing print service providers with greater flexibility and process control across a broad range of substrates and production requirements.
