RICOH Pro Z75 Achieves PRINTING United Alliance Inkjet Certification
B2 sheet-fed inkjet press earns independent recognition for colour accuracy, consistency, and high-quality commercial print production

Ricoh’s Pro Z75 B2 Sheet-fed Inkjet Digital Press, paired with the Fiery Color Controller N-500, has received Digital Press – Inkjet System Certification from PRINTING United Alliance. The certification recognizes the system’s ability to meet rigorous industry standards for high-quality digital inkjet production and reinforces its suitability for demanding commercial printing applications.

The certification program evaluates commercial inkjet production systems through comprehensive testing designed to measure performance across a range of critical print quality parameters. These include colour accuracy, print uniformity, repeatability, durability, and registration. Unlike product-specific assessments, the program reviews the complete print ecosystem, including the digital front end, print engine, inks, and substrate configuration.

The achievement provides additional assurance to print service providers seeking production inkjet solutions capable of delivering consistent and standards-based output. Independent certification also offers manufacturers a credible third-party validation of system performance, helping customers make informed technology investment decisions.

The certified configuration features the RICOH Pro Z75, an aqueous pigment-based B2 automatic perfecting sheet-fed inkjet press developed for commercial print production. The system is capable of producing up to 4,500 sheets per hour on 23 x 29-inch sheet sizes and supports a wide range of coated and uncoated media.

During the certification process, the press was tested using a defined production workflow that included calibration, linearization, ICC profile creation, benchmark verification, and G7 grayscale validation. The workflow was configured to achieve GRACoL2013 CRPC6 standards under M1 measurement conditions, one of the industry’s most widely accepted print reference standards.

Testing was conducted through PRINTING United Alliance’s Digital Press Certification program, with printed samples independently evaluated by the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Printing Applications Laboratory. Systems that successfully meet all specified performance requirements are awarded official certification.

The recognition highlights the continued advancement of production inkjet technology in commercial printing environments where colour consistency, repeatability, and predictable output are critical. As print buyers increasingly demand reliable colour reproduction across multiple substrates and production platforms, independently certified systems are becoming an important benchmark for quality assurance.

For commercial printers evaluating B2 sheet-fed inkjet technology, the certification of the RICOH Pro Z75 provides additional confidence in the platform’s ability to deliver standards-compliant, high-quality print output while maintaining the productivity and efficiency expected in modern production environments.

The certification further demonstrates how today’s production inkjet systems are being assessed not only on speed and throughput, but also on their capability to meet recognised industry standards and real-world print manufacturing requirements.
