Lollipop Print installs the Canon Colorado M5W from CMYUK to remove roll-to-roll bottlenecks and accelerate wide-format production growth.
Prior to the latest investment, Lollipop Print operated an Arizona flatbed system for rigid substrates alongside an older roll-to-roll device. However, rising job volumes created production bottlenecks, particularly across flexible media applications. With an even split between rigid and roll-fed work, the need for a faster and more dedicated roll-to-roll solution became increasingly evident.
The addition of the Colorado M5W has helped streamline operations through its UVgel technology and automated, unattended printing functionality. The system allows extended production hours without manual supervision, significantly increasing overall throughput. According to the company, jobs that previously occupied up to 16 hours of press time are now completed in less than half that duration.
The printer’s white ink performance has also improved efficiency in producing layered graphics and double-sided window displays. Enhanced productivity in these applications has reduced turnaround times and opened opportunities for more complex projects. Furthermore, the ability to alternate between matt and gloss finishes supports creative campaign work and event graphics, while enabling the company to explore new segments such as bespoke packaging and specialized mailers.
The installation builds on an existing relationship with CMYUK, which has previously supplied digital cutting equipment to the business. With the Colorado M5W now integrated into its workflow, Lollipop Print has strengthened its roll-to-roll production capacity, positioning the company to manage higher volumes while maintaining quality and operational flexibility.
