Integrated desktop solution combines printing, powdering, shaking, curing and air filtration for small-scale apparel production.
XtraMaker has introduced its M1 and M1 Pro desktop direct-to-film (DTF) printing systems, presenting an integrated 5-in-1 solution designed to simplify apparel decoration workflows for small businesses, creators and custom garment producers. The products are being introduced through a Kickstarter campaign and combine printing, powder application, powder shaking, curing and air filtration into a single desktop unit.
According to the company, the systems are intended to reduce the complexity traditionally associated with DTF production by automating multiple stages of the printing process. Users can send a print job to the machine, which then completes the transfer film preparation with minimal manual intervention. The desktop format is aimed at businesses seeking to establish or expand DTF production without investing in multiple standalone machines.
The M1 series supports print resolutions of up to 1440 × 1440 dpi and incorporates G7-certified colour management to improve colour consistency. It is designed to print on a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, denim, nylon, silk, canvas and wool, with white ink support for dark-coloured garments.
To improve operational reliability, the printers include automated maintenance functions such as white ink circulation, idle maintenance, printhead cleaning and a detachable printhead for easier replacement. The systems also feature more than 20 monitoring sensors, while an integrated UPS backup battery helps maintain automatic maintenance routines during power interruptions.
The company has also integrated AI-assisted features within its XtraMaker Studios software, including design preparation, automatic layout optimisation, material cost estimation and 2D/3D print previews intended to help users visualise finished transfers before production.
For workplace safety, the M1 series incorporates a built-in filtration system using H13 HEPA and activated carbon filters to capture powder particles and reduce fumes generated during the curing process. Adjustable temperature and curing controls are also included to support different transfer powder requirements.
XtraMaker states that manufacturing is already underway and that the company has established regional after-sales support through service partners in North America, Canada, the UK and Europe.
