Gorakhpur-based printer expands its capabilities beyond conventional offset printing to tap emerging opportunities in short-run, customised and premium-quality commercial printing.
GORAKHPUR: In a move to expand its presence in the commercial printing market, Brijbala Offset Printers, based in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has ventured into digital printing with the installation of a Canon imagePRESS V770 digital colour production press. The investment marks an important step in the company’s growth journey as it looks to diversify its service portfolio and address the changing requirements of print buyers.
Led by proprietor Rahul Dubey, the company sees digital printing as an emerging business opportunity, particularly in applications where shorter production runs, customised designs and quick turnaround times are becoming increasingly important. The addition of the Canon imagePRESS V770 enables Brijbala Offset Printers to explore jobs that may not always be commercially viable through conventional offset production, while offering customers greater flexibility in quantities and personalisation.
The newly installed press is designed to deliver vibrant colour reproduction, sharp text and detailed graphic output across a variety of media. Operating at speeds of up to 81 pages per minute, the imagePRESS V770 supports a wide range of substrates, including coated stocks, labels, envelopes, textured papers and synthetic materials. Its Air-Assist Tray also supports reliable feeding of coated media, helping improve production continuity.
With this investment, Brijbala Offset Printers is positioned to expand its offerings across commercial printing applications such as catalogues, business cards, wedding and invitation cards, flyers, inserts, booklets and calendars. The ability to handle specialised print requirements and smaller quantities is expected to open up additional opportunities among businesses, institutions and individual customers.
Beyond the machine investment, the move reflects a broader shift in the printing industry, where offset and digital technologies are increasingly complementing each other. While offset remains a preferred choice for large-volume production, digital printing provides advantages in short-run jobs, variable content, customised applications and faster delivery schedules. By bringing both capabilities into its business, Brijbala Offset Printers is taking a step towards a more diversified and customer-focused production model.
The company has also acknowledged Canon India’s technical and after-sales support as an important part of its investment experience. Looking ahead, Brijbala Offset Printers intends to build on this initial entry into digital production and further strengthen its association with Canon India as it explores new opportunities in the evolving commercial printing market.
