Saurabh Printers adds colours to books with brand new KOMORI
Greater Noida-based Saurabh Printers has installed its first KOMORI Lithrone G37 sheetfed offset press to enhance high-quality colour printing for book covers, jackets, and commercial print applications.

Greater Noida-based Saurabh Printers enhances its book printing capabilities with its first KOMORI press, boosting high-quality colour production for book covers and premium print applications.

Saurabh Printers, the printing arm of the Saku Group based in Greater Noida (Delhi-NCR), has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a new KOMORI Lithrone G37 sheet-fed offset press. The investment marks the company’s first press from KOMORI India and is aimed at enhancing colour printing for book covers, jackets and other premium print applications.

Established as a specialist in book printing and publishing, Saurabh Printers serves both domestic and international publishers, producing paperback and hardbound books entirely in-house through an integrated manufacturing facility equipped with a wide range of printing and finishing technologies.

Commenting on the investment, Vinod Kumar Gulati, Managing Director of Saurabh Printers, said the company has consistently invested in advanced technologies to strengthen its production capabilities.

“Over the last three and a half decades, we have built our expertise in book printing and publishing by continuously upgrading our technology and expanding our production capacity. The Lithrone G37 is another important milestone in our journey to deliver superior colour quality for book covers and other premium applications,” he said.

The company has steadily modernised its operations in recent years. In 2023, it introduced digital monochrome inkjet printing and an eight-colour Xerox digital production press for print-on-demand (POD) books. This was followed by the installation of JETSCI KnowzzleJet presses from Monotech Systems to enhance monochrome book production, along with a Monotech PixelGlow UV and foiling system for value-added finishing.

According to Gulati, the latest investment in the KOMORI Lithrone G37 further strengthens the company’s colour printing capabilities.

“We selected the Lithrone G37 for its advanced technology, exceptional print quality and productivity. It enables us to produce vibrant book covers, jackets and other high-quality colour applications with greater efficiency,” he added.

The 37-inch sheet-fed offset press supports a maximum sheet size of 640 x 940 mm, accommodating up to 16-page A4 impositions. Designed for high-pagination book production as well as commercial printing and packaging graphics, the press handles a wide range of paper substrates and operates at speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour. Equipped with an inline coater, it delivers high productivity while maintaining consistent print quality.

Gulati noted that since commissioning the Lithrone G37, the company has shifted its colour cover production to the new press and has been impressed by both its performance and the after-sales support provided by KOMORI India.

Founded in 1991, Saku Group established Saurabh Printers in 1996 as its dedicated book printing division. The company further expanded its international presence by acquiring Westman Printing in Sydney, Australia, in 2005. Today, Saurabh Printers continues to invest in advanced printing technologies to meet the evolving requirements of publishers and the growing demand for high-quality book production.
