Kent-based wide format printer PressOn has installed a Fujifilm Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED, becoming the latest UK business to invest in the machine. The printer, which was installed in June 2025, is being used to handle both rigid and flexible media, and is already contributing to faster turnaround times, higher print quality, and increased versatility.

Established in 1999, PressOn employs 25 staff across two sites and serves clients in sectors including retail, property, infrastructure, and advertising. The business also operates a dedicated vehicle livery division. With two existing hybrid printers nearing the end of their operational life in late 2024, the company began exploring new equipment options to meet changing customer demands.

According to managing director Andy Wilson, PressOn evaluated a range of technologies before selecting the Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED. He noted that Fujifilm’s focus on ink development was a key differentiator. “Most manufacturers focus on the machine, but Fujifilm starts with the ink,” said Mr Wilson. “That perspective changed how we thought about print technology.”

PressOn cited several advantages of the Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED, including improved compatibility with different substrates, reduced marking on fabrics, and more consistent white ink performance on clear film. The company also highlighted the speed and quality improvements over its previous equipment, as well as the simplified media switching process.

The printer also aligns with PressOn’s efforts to maintain a more environmentally responsible and comfortable working environment. Unlike previous UV printers used by the company, the Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED produces minimal odour and heat, and does not require additional ventilation, largely due to the formulation of Fujifilm’s inks.

Since the installation, PressOn has increased its production capacity and taken on new work. Although customers may not be aware of the equipment upgrade, Mr Wilson said the internal improvements in efficiency and output have been clear. “The transition has been seamless, and the team is impressed by the performance,” he commented.

This marks the first Fujifilm press in PressOn’s equipment portfolio, but Mr Wilson suggested it may not be the last. “Based on this experience, we would definitely consider Fujifilm again in the future,” he concluded.
