Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. will release its newly developed aqueous pigment ink “AP50” for sign graphics applications.
This ink will be equipped in our high-speed sublimation transfer inkjet printer, the “Tiger600-1800TS,” with sales commencing in February 2026. This will provide a print system capable of consistently producing high-quality, vivid graphics for volume production of short-term posters, POP displays, and similar applications.
The “Tiger600-1800TS” is a sublimation transfer inkjet printer that combines our proprietary image processing technology with a high-speed drive print head to achieve both high productivity and high image quality, earning high praise for textile printing applications. To bring its key feature—high-speed, beautiful expression—to the poster and POP graphic printing market, it now supports the newly developed aqueous pigment ink “AP50”.
The newly developed “AP50” ink is designed to maximize the performance of the high-speed, high-quality Tiger600-1800TS printer. It delivers vivid color reproduction and features excellent drying properties for sharp, smudge-resistant images. With its high saturation in the red spectrum, it is particularly suited for applications requiring high visibility and impact, such as campaign visuals and food posters.
Furthermore, its large-capacity ink tanks holding 10kg each of CMYK ink enable long-run operation while reducing ink costs per print. In addition, the “Ink Save Function” included in the standard RIP software optimizes ink consumption based on application, allowing for more cost-effective output of large volumes of posters and POP displays.
The “AP50,” primarily composed of water, is scheduled to obtain GREENGUARD Gold certification*1, contributing to the creation of a safe and comfortable production environment.
The Tiger600-1800TS equipped with the “AP50” delivers vivid, high-quality advertising output at high speeds with stable performance. Its practical speed of 220sqm/h (2,368sqft/h) offers high productivity, while its transport system minimizes media wrinkling. It enables the stable mass production of eye-catching, vibrant graphics for urban settings.
Furthermore, it is offered as a total solution including software, featuring the cloud-based monitoring tool “PICT” that visualizes printer operation status and ink usage in real time to support production planning. It provides robust support for your production, from installation through stable operation.
Key Features of the Tiger600-1800TS and Aqueous Pigment Ink AP50
1) High-quality print technology that creates eye-catching graphics
Our proprietary ink ejection control technology precisely lands ink droplets at the intended position even during high-speed print scanning, while correction technology suppresses banding (color unevenness), achieving sharp and beautiful high image quality.
2) Aqueous pigment ink enabling vivid color reproduction
Compared to offset printing color standards, it enables more vivid and deeper color reproduction. It excels particularly in red color rendering, making it ideal for promotional applications where visibility and impact are paramount.
3) Media transport systems supporting mass production of high-quality advertisements
The transport system features three drive rollers that suppress media wrinkles, reducing media smudging and downtime caused by printhead abrasion. It achieves stable continuous operation even at high production speeds of 220 sqm/h (equivalent to over nine hundred A2-size sheets per hour) *2.
*2. When outputting A2 posters arranged on a 1.8-meter-wide roll
