Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce the installation of the first Canon Texas high-speed flatbed printer in Canada at Hemlock Printers in Burnaby, B.C.

The installation marks a new milestone in a long-standing relationship that Canon began with PrismTech Graphics in 2008 and has grown even stronger since its acquisition by Hemlock in 2020. Through live demonstrations, extensive testing, ROI analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations, Canon Canada worked closely with Hemlock to ensure the Texas printer met their specific requirements.

The Texas printer, Canon’s next-generation flatbed press built by Ronik, is designed for maximum production speed and efficiency, making it a powerful alternative to traditional screen presses. A robust digital printing platform designed for large-capacity jobs, the Texas can print substrates up to six inches thick at speeds up to 4,000 square feet per hour.

With the installation of the Texas flatbed printer at its state-of-the art 14,000-square-foot site in Burnaby, Hemlock solidifies its position as the largest wide-format production facility in British Columbia. The company utilizes the Texas press primarily for high-volume production of card stock, posters and advertisements, as well as corrugated and coroplast materials for national campaigns.

“At Canon, we are very pleased with the Texas installation at Hemlock,” says Raymond Brideau, Senior Sales Manager, Production, Canon Canada. “The Texas printer will strategically position Canon and Hemlock within the packaging segment for years to come. Canon thanks Hemlock for its continued trust, and values the strong partnership shared between our organizations.”
