Canon Launches ColorStream 7000 Series to Expand Web-Fed Inkjet Portfolio
New production inkjet presses deliver enhanced productivity, reliability, and scalability for transactional, direct mail, and book printing applications.

Canon has expanded its web-fed production inkjet portfolio with the introduction of the ColorStream 7000 series, a new generation of high-performance presses designed to meet the evolving needs of demanding production print environments.

Building on the success of the ColorStream platform, which has recorded more than 2,000 installations worldwide, the new series has been developed to deliver greater efficiency, reliability, and long-term serviceability for high-volume transactional printing, direct mail production, and book manufacturing.

The ColorStream 7000 series comprises three models—ColorStream 7075, ColorStream 7100, and ColorStream 7127—available in both monochrome and full-colour configurations. Offering production speeds ranging from 157 to 417 feet per minute and monthly duty cycles of up to 54 million letter impressions, the presses provide print service providers with the flexibility to scale operations as business requirements grow.

Designed to handle demanding production workloads, the new presses support personalized direct mail campaigns, transactional documents, and high-quality monochrome and colour book printing. The series is optimized for printing on standard offset uncoated and inkjet-treated papers, enabling greater application versatility.

Built on Canon’s latest web-fed inkjet architecture, the ColorStream 7000 series incorporates an intuitive user interface and advanced automation features that help operators maximize productivity. Native 600 dpi printheads combined with highly pigmented water-based inks ensure consistent image quality, sharp detail, and reliable performance across a wide range of applications.

The presses also feature Canon’s advanced water-cooled printhead technology, which helps maintain optimal ink viscosity during high-speed production runs. Additional innovations, including pre-fire nozzle management technology and professional colour management tools, further enhance print consistency and operational reliability.

To support workflow automation and production management, the ColorStream 7000 series can be integrated with Canon’s PRISMA suite of software solutions. These include PRISMAproduction for workflow automation, PRISMAlytics Dashboard for real-time production monitoring and analytics, and PRISMAsimulate for job validation and simulation before printing, helping reduce errors and minimize waste.

The series also introduces productivity-enhancing features such as waste-free print pause, inspection mode, and automated communication with inline finishing equipment. These capabilities allow operators to make adjustments during production without unnecessary paper loss, contributing to improved efficiency and lower operating costs.

Powered by Canon’s latest SRA Massive Parallel controller, the presses offer enhanced RIP processing performance and faster data handling, ensuring smooth operation even in high-volume production environments.

Sustainability has also been a key focus in the development of the ColorStream 7000 series. The presses incorporate energy-efficient drying systems and advanced infrastructure designed to reduce power consumption during both production and idle periods. Combined with precise paper handling and inkjet control technologies, these features support high-quality output while helping print providers achieve their sustainability objectives.

With the launch of the ColorStream 7000 series, Canon continues to strengthen its position in the production inkjet market, providing print businesses with advanced solutions that combine performance, scalability, automation, and environmental responsibility.
