Evonik Coating Additives has unveiled a new line of AERODISP® particle dispersions aimed at boosting the performance of waterborne inkjet ink receptive coatings.
This latest innovation is specifically designed to enhance dot sharpness and resolution—two critical factors for achieving high-quality output in digital printing. The AERODISP® portfolio consists of four different dispersions formulated with either silicon dioxide (SiO₂) or aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) particles.
These include both anionic and cationic variants to ensure broad compatibility with various binder systems, making them suitable for a wide range of printing applications.
Among the new offerings are AERODISP® WR 8520 and AERODISP® W 7520 WF, both anionic SiO₂-based dispersions, with the latter providing excellent food contact compliance. On the cationic side, the lineup features AERODISP® WK 7330, also SiO₂-based, and AERODISP® W 630, an Al₂O₃-based dispersion that stands out for its high transparency.
These dispersions are engineered to improve the fixation of ink droplets on substrates, resulting in sharper, more defined print images. They also integrate easily into coating formulations with simple stirring and are compatible with a wide array of binder systems.
The AERODISP® dispersions are particularly beneficial for industries requiring precision and substrate adaptability, such as food packaging, decorative prints, and textiles.
Susanne Struck, Global Head of Market Segment Inks at Evonik Coating Additives, highlighted the role of substrate quality in achieving top-tier resolution and noted that these new dispersions can significantly elevate print performance.
This launch underlines Evonik’s dedication to supporting the digital transformation of the printing industry through innovative, high-performance solutions.
