Polish Printer Takes a Leap Forward with Komori Lithrone GL-644 Advance Investment

by Print3 Magazine
Leading Polish printing company strengthens its competitive position with the investment in a Komori Lithrone GL-644 advance with two coaters. A press designed to deliver world-class productivity, sustainability, and print quality.

For Tagraf—one of Poland’s progressive printing houses—this investment marks a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to expand capacity, improve operational efficiency, and meet growing client demand for high-quality print and packaging production.

The Komori Lithrone GL-644 advance is a six-colour 44-inch sheetfed press capable of printing sheets up to 840 x 1,150 mm. The larger format enables significantly more efficient sheet imposition compared to conventional 40-inch presses, reducing material waste, press time, and energy consumption, while maintaining exceptional print quality.

A Strategic Investment for a Competitive Market

“Investing in the Komori GL-644 advance with two coaters was a clear strategic decision for us. The larger sheet format, advanced automation, and production capabilities align well with our long-term business objectives. We see this investment as an important step in strengthening our production offering and creating new opportunities for growth. We look forward to bringing the machine into operation and realising the benefits it can deliver for both our business and our customers.”— Błażej Taborowski, owner of Tagraf.

The GL-644 advance is part of Komori’s Lithrone GX/G advance series, built around the concept of Connected Automation, a smart factory approach that links prepress, press, and postpress workflows to streamline production across the entire print chain.

Local Partnership Delivers Seamless Installation

The installation and commissioning of the press will be handled by Reprograf Grafikus, Komori’s authorised distributor in Poland.

“The decisive factor that led to the selection of the Komori solution was its enlarged printing format. It ensures significantly higher production efficiency compared to the standard B1 format, which translates directly into better sheet utilization and higher production profitability. Equally important were the machine’s reliability and low service costs. These factors enabled us to convince the customer that Komori solutions are the best choice for modern packaging printing houses.”— Tomasz Balcerowski, Managing Director, Reprograf-Grafikus.

Komori Strengthens Its Footprint in Central Europe

Poland continues to be one of Europe’s most dynamic printing markets, with growing demand from the packaging, commercial, and publishing sectors. The investment reflects Komori’s strong momentum across the Central and Eastern European region.

“Poland represents one of the most exciting growth markets in Europe for us, and investments like this one at Tagraf reflect the ambition and forward-thinking mindset of Polish printers. The GL-644 advance is our flagship 44-inch platform, the kind of technology that allows print businesses to differentiate on quality, efficiency, and sustainability. We are incredibly proud to support this investment and look forward to what this team will achieve with it.” — Michal Obdrzalek, Regional Sales Director, Komori Europe.
