CMYUK is using giant-format graphics produced on the EFI VUTEk Qx5r to demonstrate the full-scale capabilities of EFI’s latest 5m roll-to-roll UV LED printer at The Print Show.
Produced by Ottimo Digital on its newly installed Qx5r, supplied by CMYUK, the graphics comprise two supersized backlit displays and a giant overhead banner. They will form a major visual feature of CMYUK’s presence, the largest in The Print Show’s ten-year history, giving visitors the opportunity to see the scale and quality of the Qx5r’s output without the printer itself being on the show floor.
On the stand, visitors will be able to see first-hand the rich, vibrant colour, large-area consistency and flexibility delivered by the Qx5r’s new ink set.
Sarah Neate, Marketing Director at CMYUK, said: “We wanted to show what the EFI VUTEk Qx5r can really do, but without physically bringing a 5m printer to the show.
“The backlits and overhead banner are doing the talking for us. They demonstrate the strength of the Qx5r’s new flexible UV inks and the impact that can be achieved from this latest-generation platform.”
UFABRIK Universal Backlit textile was specified for the large lightbox wall displays, bringing together EFI’s latest-generation UV LED print technology with one of UFABRIK’s leading display textiles. The substantial production run also provided a demanding real-world demonstration of the material’s consistency, colour reproduction and print performance across large-format backlit graphics.

“The results on UFABRIK Universal Backlit were exceptional. The consistency across such large areas, the colour strength and the overall print quality were extremely impressive. We have worked with a lot of display materials, and in terms of the finished backlit result, this is the best we’ve seen.”
Visitors to the CMYUK stand will be able to see the EFI VUTEk M3h 3.2m wide UV LED hybrid printer, Canon UVgel technology, next-generation JWEI cutting and finishing tables, plus a materials and applications showcase.
