eufyMake has released a major software update for its E1 personal 3D-texture UV printer, introducing bidirectional printing, relaxed restrictions on expired ink, and new maintenance features designed to improve productivity and usability.
The update marks a significant step in enhancing workflow efficiency for small businesses, creators, and print professionals using compact UV printing systems.
Faster Output with Bidirectional Printing
The highlight of the update is the official rollout of bidirectional printing, enabling the printhead to operate in both directions instead of a single pass.
This advancement reduces idle movement and significantly improves throughput, delivering speed gains of 40% to 75%, depending on print mode and white ink usage.
Unlike traditional unidirectional printing, the system prints and cures simultaneously on return passes, optimizing efficiency without compromising output consistency. To maintain accuracy, the system incorporates calibration tools that align ink droplets during forward and reverse movements.
Currently, the feature supports flatbed printing, while compatibility for rotary and roll-to-film setups is still under development.
Flexible Approach to Expired UV Ink
In a notable policy shift, eufyMake has removed the strict lockout previously applied to expired UV ink.
Instead of blocking usage, the system now:
- Displays a risk warning
- Allows users to continue printing if needed
- Provides a 14-day observation window to replace ink
While this offers greater operational flexibility, the company still advises replacing expired ink promptly to avoid potential printhead damage. Warranty coverage may also be limited if outdated ink is used beyond the grace period.

White Ink Settling Repair
A pre-print diagnostic detects potential white ink settling and offers:
- Recover & Print – purges ink to restore flow
- Skip – proceeds without correction
This helps ensure stable output, especially in intermittent-use scenarios.
Medium Clean Enhanced
A new cleaning mode provides a more effective solution for nozzle clogging, equivalent to running standard cleaning cycles twice, reducing the need for deep cleaning.
Supporting Advanced Print Applications
The update also reinforces support for sequential (multi-layer) printing, enabling complex applications such as:
- Spot UV effects
- Textured prints
- Decorative and specialty graphics
This functionality allows multiple print parameters within a single job, improving creative flexibility and reducing manual intervention.
