New compact photo printer features Bluetooth connectivity, enhanced colour reproduction, and expanded media compatibility
China, July 6, 2026: Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Desktop Photo Printer 2 on its Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform, offering improved photo printing quality through a new four-colour dye-sublimation process and broader media support. The crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to begin on July 13, 2026, with the printer priced at 699 yuan (approximately US$102).
The Mijia Desktop Photo Printer 2 succeeds the Mijia Photo Printer 1S, launched in 2020, and brings several notable upgrades aimed at improving print quality and user convenience.
The most significant enhancement is the transition from a three-colour dye-sublimation printing system to a four-colour (CMYK) dye-sublimation process, which introduces a dedicated black (K) layer. This additional colour is designed to deliver sharper text, richer black tones, and improved overall image quality.
The new printer also expands media compatibility by supporting 4-inch double-sided photo paper, 3-inch adhesive photo paper, and 6-inch photo paper, including a new professional-grade four-colour media option. The previous generation was limited to square adhesive media and standard 6-inch photo paper.
Connectivity has also been upgraded. Unlike the earlier model, which relied on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, the Mijia Desktop Photo Printer 2 features Bluetooth 5.2, enabling direct smartphone connections without requiring a wireless network. Xiaomi says multiple users can connect simultaneously, making the printer suitable for shared home or office environments.
On the software side, Xiaomi has added several creative features, including LUT-based colour adjustment, AR dynamic photo support, smart ID photo printing, and multiple textured lamination finishes. These additions expand the printer’s capabilities beyond standard photo printing, providing users with greater creative flexibility.
The printer measures 199 × 126.6 × 85.7 mm, making it only slightly larger than its predecessor while maintaining a compact desktop footprint.
Alongside the printer, Xiaomi has introduced a range of compatible consumables, including 4-inch double-sided photo paper, 3-inch adhesive photo paper, 6-inch standard photo paper, and 6-inch professional four-colour photo paper, offering users multiple printing options for personal and creative applications.
With improved print quality, enhanced connectivity, and expanded media support, the Mijia Desktop Photo Printer 2 represents Xiaomi’s latest advancement in the consumer photo printing segment.
