Thuraiyur Printing Hub Gets Centre’s Nod; CFC Expected by 2026-End
In a major push to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s printing industry, the Central government has approved the procurement and installation of advanced machinery for the Common Facility Centre (CFC) at the Thuraiyur printing cluster.

The facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2026, marking a significant milestone for the region. The CFC is being developed under the MSME Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises. This initiative will enable small-scale printing units to access high-end technology and modern infrastructure without the burden of heavy capital investment.

Once operational, the centre will feature state-of-the-art printing presses, finishing and post-press equipment, and packaging solutions. These facilities will help local printers improve print quality, increase productivity, and reduce turnaround time, allowing them to compete effectively in both domestic and international markets.

The Thuraiyur printing hub, strategically located near key industrial districts such as Tiruchirappalli, Namakkal, and Karur, is expected to become a vital support system for nearby businesses. By reducing dependency on larger printing hubs in other cities, the CFC will lower logistics costs and improve operational efficiency.

In addition to technological advancement, the project is also expected to generate employment opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship in the region. It will further promote innovation in areas such as packaging, commercial printing, and value-added print services.

Industry experts view this development as a transformative step that will accelerate the modernization of the regional printing ecosystem and contribute to the overall growth of India’s MSME sector.
