Siegwerk, one of the leading global providers of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications and labels, has strengthened its long-standing partnership with US-based premium food packaging manufacturer The Revere Group, helping the company to achieve a more efficient, reliable and sustainable production.
By switching to Siegwerk’s low-migration SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks, faster press speeds, improved uptime, and consistent Expanded Color Gamut (ECG) printing were enabled, reducing waste and supporting customer-focused sustainability goals. The Revere Group, a fourth-generation, family-owned company located in Seattle, Washington, uses advanced ECG printing that allows them to reproduce over 90% of Pantone® colors accurately and repeatably with seven instead of four inks, while minimizing the need for clean-ups between print jobs. Siegwerk supported its partner in precisely matching its seven-color ink set, ensuring seamless continuity while allowing press operators to focus on printing rather than troubleshooting.
“The switch to Siegwerk’s low-migration inks has definitely paid off for us,” said Mark Revere, Co-President at The Revere Group. “They run faster and more cleanly on our press, improve uptime and reduce waste an important factor when it comes to our sustainability.” Besides, SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks can be cured with both UV and LED lamps, which not only maximizes operational flexibility but also supports sustainability efforts.
Beyond performance improvements for food packaging applications, the collaboration has also opened up new opportunities in sustainable packaging for The Revere Group. Through close technical exchange and access to Siegwerk’s global expertise, the company has been able to expand its capabilities through the use of special primers for compostable applications and recyclable mono-material structures. These innovations have enabled the creation of new sustainable packaging options, meeting the growing customer demand for environmentally responsible flexible packaging solutions.
“Our work with The Revere Group demonstrates how a strong partnership, technical expertise and consistent ink performance can drive efficiency and sustainability in packaging,” added Mike Hoft, West Regional Sales Manager at Siegwerk CUSA. “Customers like The Revere Group challenge us to think differently and that’s what makes the collaboration so valuable.” The relationship between the both partners already goes back to 1989 when The Revere Group started using Siegwerk’s water-based inks. “We really love working with the team at Siegwerk“, concluded Sally Revere, Co-President at The Revere Group. “They share the same curiosity and technical passion, helping us to solve complex challenges and deliver high-quality, food-safe packaging to our clients.”
