New entry-level ColorWorks printer and Label Boost software suite target visitor management, short-run labels and low-volume in-house color printing.
Epson has expanded its ColorWorks portfolio with the launch of the ColorWorks CW-D3800, a compact and affordable color label and badge printer designed for businesses requiring low-volume, on-demand label production. The company also introduced the Label Boost software suite to simplify label design, visitor badge printing and color shipping label creation.
The CW-D3800 is aimed at small businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, corporate offices and government organisations that need an economical solution for producing visitor badges, private-label packaging, seasonal product labels and other short-run applications without relying on pre-printed label inventories.
Powered by Epson’s PrecisionCore permanent printhead, the printer delivers full-colour output at resolutions of up to 600 × 1200 dpi. It supports both roll and fanfold media in widths ranging from 1 inch to 4.25 inches, enabling production of product labels, shelf tags, food labels and identification badges.
The printer is designed for ease of integration into existing workflows, supporting Windows, iOS and Linux operating systems as well as Epson ESC/Label emulation. It also includes a colour LCD interface, automatic Nozzle Verification Technology for reliable print quality, simplified media loading and optional Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile printing through the Epson ColorWorks Print App.
Alongside the hardware launch, Epson introduced the Label Boost software suite, a collection of no-cost applications for Epson label printers.
The suite includes Label Boost Designer, a drag-and-drop application for creating colour labels, barcodes, QR codes and custom graphics; Label Boost Concierge, which streamlines visitor check-in and badge printing for organisations and events; and Label Boost Shipper, which enables businesses to create colour shipping labels incorporating promotional graphics, QR codes and marketing messages.
By combining the CW-D3800 with the Label Boost software suite, Epson aims to provide an accessible entry point for organisations transitioning to digital, on-demand colour label production. The solution allows users to reduce inventories of pre-printed labels while enabling greater flexibility for customised, seasonal and short-run printing applications.
The ColorWorks CW-D3800 and the Label Boost software suite are available from June 2026.
