HP has introduced HP Print AI in Australia, bringing artificial intelligence-powered printing features to compatible home and office printers. The new solution is designed to solve one of the most common printing frustrations—poorly formatted web pages.
According to HP, more than half of all home and office print jobs now originate from web content such as articles, recipes, travel information and how-to guides. However, printing directly from a browser often results in unwanted advertisements, inconsistent spacing, oversized images and unnecessary extra pages, leading to wasted paper, ink and time.
At the core of the launch is Precise Print, an AI-powered feature that automatically cleans and reformats web pages before printing. The technology removes unwanted content, optimizes layouts and produces a cleaner, more readable printed document without requiring manual adjustments.
Wide Device Compatibility
HP Print AI is available on newly activated compatible printers across several existing product families, including:
-
HP DeskJet 2900 Series
-
HP Envy 6100 & 6500 Series
-
HP Envy Inspire & Envy Photo 7200/7900 Series
-
HP Smart Tank 210, 5100, 6000, 7000, 7300 & 7600 Series
-
HP OfficeJet Pro 8100, 9100 & 9700 Series
The service also supports compatible HP LaserJet models. To use the AI features, customers need an HP AI-capable printer, the HP app and a Windows 11 device.
AI Beyond Printing
HP is also integrating AI into printer setup and customer support. The enhanced system allows users to interact in natural language, guiding them through installation, troubleshooting and personalized support using contextual information and previous interactions.
Enhanced Scanning for Businesses
For commercial users, HP is expanding HP Scan AI Enhanced, a cloud-based intelligent scanning solution that automatically identifies document types and extracts key information. The platform is aimed at improving document workflows for small businesses as well as large enterprises by reducing manual data entry and processing time.
HP cited the example of a retail company in Italy with 300 stores, where the scanning solution helped reduce labour costs by 80% in delivery and inventory management operations.
Paul Gracey, Vice President and Head of Greater Asia Print Category at HP, said the way people consume information has fundamentally changed, creating new expectations for printing.“Printing has always been part of how people work, learn and create, but the way we find and use information has changed. HP Print AI helps solve those everyday frustrations now, while giving customers a printer that is ready for what comes next,” Gracey said.
With the Australian rollout, HP is positioning AI as a standard part of the everyday printing experience, making smarter page formatting, easier setup and intelligent document handling accessible to both households and businesses.
