In a defining moment for India\u2019s printing and packaging industry, Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra,\u00a0 an eminent educationist, technocrat, and global ambassador of Indian printing, proudly\u00a0 represented the country at the 1st ASEAN Printing & Packaging Technology Innovation and\u00a0 Development Forum (CAPPTIDF) held on May 16, 2025, in Beijing, China. <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n

The event, titled\u00a0 Beijing \u2013 CAPPTIDE, marked a new chapter of international cooperation, bringing together\u00a0 global industry leaders, scholars, and innovators to discuss the future of printing and\u00a0 packaging through the lens of technology, sustainability, and collaboration. The CAPPTIDF was\u00a0 not merely a conference\u2014it was a platform of purpose, attracting participation from\u00a0 renowned institutions and organizations across the globe.<\/p>\n

Supported by 12 prestigious\u00a0 institutions\u2014including BIGC, the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of\u00a0 China (PEIAC)\u2014and endorsed by international bodies like the UNESCO Regional Office for East\u00a0 Asia, the ASEAN<\/a> Academy of Engineering and Technology, and India\u2019s very own All India\u00a0 Federation of Printers and Packagers (AIFPP), the event carried immense global significance.<\/p>\n

With a theme that resonated across borders\u2014 \u201cInnovation Driven, AI Enabled and Committed\u00a0 to Win-Win Cooperation\u201d\u2014the forum sought to address how technological advancement,\u00a0 combined with collaborative spirit, can reshape the future of the printing and packaging\u00a0 sectors.<\/p>\n

The forum featured 13 distinguished speakers from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil,\u00a0 Thailand, Singapore\u2014and India. Each speaker presented thoughtful research and case studies\u00a0 on the emerging trends, breakthroughs, and the pressing need for sustainable solutions in the\u00a0 industry.<\/p>\n

Prominent names included Prof. Kang Jincheng, Mr. Liu Zhongqing, and Mr. Tan Ming from China; Prof. Nguyen Long Giang from Vietnam; Cheong Kok Wai and Dr. Mathialagan\u00a0 Muniyadi from Malaysia; and Mr. Ho Yeow Liang from Singapore, among others. His research paper,\u00a0 titled \u201cStatus of Printing Enterprises in India,\u201d provided a deep and analytical overview of the\u00a0 current state of the Indian printing industry.<\/p>\n

He detailed the shifts in market behaviour, the\u00a0 increasing embrace of digital printing technologies, and the ongoing integration of AI, robotics,\u00a0 and automation in printing processes.
